"The 13th Step, the Film" A documentary about sexual, violent and financial crimes in 12 Step AA that you don't see, because AA members cover it up, hide it and claim it doesn't happen in their group.http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-13th-step

Just a little rant about the AA program. Whether members want to admit it or not, it is a religious program and involves religious indoctrination of a vulnerable group. It's unconstitutional to require someone to attend AA as a stipulation of probation, yet it's still widely practiced.

VERY WELL STATED. I HATED READING "HOW IT WORKS" I CRINGED WHEN I READ " THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE CONSTITUTIONALLY INCAPABLE OF BEING HONEST WITH THEMSELVES" UGH I CAN'T COUNT THE TIMES I READ THAT AND DIDN'T WANT TO. BRAINWASHING AT IT'S FINEST.

I agree. It is well presented. Very calm, unemotional and to the point with relevant references from the Big Book. Much better than some others on this subject that are disjointed and rambling. She should sue her probation officer.
Hearing her read those parts of Ch. 5 did make my skin crawl. It brought me right back to those meetings - eeeeww!

She should contact the local ACLU office and have then sue the pants of the PO. I think she said 2010 so the statute of limitations may still be open.

anymore? I would like to tell the word my story someday but I'll be damned if I want to make a movie with me sitting there, trying to talk, read, and remember what the hell I'm doing. lol

Actually I'm just exploring youtube marketing and why some videos go viral and the time it takes for them to reach critical mass. Writing is one way to reach a target market, video and film is another way. Looking back through history since the advent of film, movies and TV there has been a shift and many people prefer to watch TV or go to the movies to learn about things, even though they are often lacking.
I remember when I was growing up, my parents bought the Encyclopedia Britannica and a collection of "Classic Literature" (forget who made them but it was a set of about 10 books with Tom Sawyer, To kill a Mockingbird", etc... It cost them quite a lot of money back then (hundreds of dollars in the 1960's). I read every Encyclopedia Book cover to cover and all of the Classics slowly. Some of them took days to read.

myself even. But I fear for people who publicly denounce 12 steps. We have to remember we are dealing with brainwashed psychopaths. They would feel justified screwing anyone's life up I fear.

It is true that some AA members are devious dangerous psychopaths. Not all of them are, I can tell them by the number of slogans and AA contradictory language they use. I would say it is actually about 10% of the actual sample population of AA members. Unfortunately these are the 10% who organize the religion and set up committees. Like pedophiles, they search out and groom newcomers (http://www.naasca.org/2012-Articles/040512-GroomingWillingVictims.htm) to take over their positions so they can work their way up to food chain to the AA Guru status. It normally starts as being a chairperson, GSR, Intergroup Rep, District Rep and then Area Rep, Regional Rep in the US. Once the psychopath has reached this level of power withing the structure of AA that claims it has no structure, they are outright dangerous. Out of the people that reach this level in AA not all are super dangerous, but the majority are. I wouldn't allow them near your children, because they will look for any reason to indoctrinate them and send them on the hunt to find prospects.

I don't want them to know a thing about me, not my real name, what I look like, or where I live. Maybe I could do a you-tube and tell people why I am hiding my identity. More important for me to be anonymous in this group than it was when I was in recovery! LOL

This is a video on my beliefs about A.A. (Alcoholics Anonymous). As I said in the video, I WILL NOT respond to comments on this particular video. If you don't like it, you should have clicked it off at the opening statement.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy_QaymkWpA

me when he defended it. :(

He also lost a lot of AA members (True Believers) when he called AA a cult. The above Youtube video is selecting a target market of people on the fence. It is appropriate for showing to anyone to deprogram and thinks that AA might not be the "self help" group that it is claiming to be. I would call it an on the fence video or "politically correct" video.

sense but doesn't really if you know what I mean. I switched it off. AA has enough defenders.
