AA not for everyone

Excellent critique on AA and it's abusive methods in the UK independent.

However, the remainder of the Twelve Steps builds on this tenet of being powerless, and indeed proceeds to a complete personal breakdown and restructuring – something that I don’t want to do. I’ve achieved my goals, and I’m at a far happier place in my life – why should I feel compelled to perform a total deconstruction of myself?

AA is a religious cult dressed up to look like a treatment for alcoholism.

The "Not for everyone" line assumes that A.A. must be appropriate for some people.

Honestly, for whom is quack medicine and cult religion appropriate medical treatment for the life-threatening (so-called) "disease of alcoholism"? If "alcoholism" is really a disease, then wouldn't proper treatment by a real MD doctor be more appropriate? Not to mention, "legal"?

for those who want to follow a fantasy and claim they have a disease so they dont have to take responsability for a behaveral problem. In other words they can blame all their problems on their so called disease and hide under a Billgod.LOL
