Wake me up when they come up with a method that produces a 75% to 80% remission rate.

I doubt anyone will ever come up with a method to eliminate free will and make people behave differently than they already do. While they are at it, how about a 'program' to make people want to go get a job instead of breeding and collecting welfare. That would be just as useful a 'program' as rehabilitating drunks and drug addicts.

I saw something happen at the MM meetings we started to hold over in the UK.

The facilitators role was purley to enable the meeting to take place in Mansfield Nottingham and London. I know from my experience that the so called 'recovery' industry will NOT allow something like MM to take root nor do I believe it will allow anything it cannot control to take root in the UK.

I belive HAMS is the answer together with developing a relationship with the drinks industry. Some people in MM also believe in censorship of critisism of a predatory cult that kills people and preaches personal powerlessness and God control (there is something seriously wrong with this 'recovery' industry and I believe it has spread from the US to other nations like the UK)

I feel a big problem with almost all the alternatives is that they dont let people critisize AA. I believe at this point the alts need to get the balls to push back hard against AA or get smothered. Ive been super busy the past couple of months with work and gardening,so dropped off the radar for a while. I have started my Freedom Recovery face to face group. There are 3 of us so far and I think it will grow. Yes an important part of my group is to help people deprogram from the AA cult. I desided to start my own new group instead of following any established program so we can use any reference material we want when researching a topic. I also can kick out any stepper from my group. Im sure glad I discovered Oranges site during the troll wars I now can stand up to any stepper and debate them into the ground:-)

AA needs to be put in its proper place in the 21st century. That place is properly six feet under, right next to the Bill W. resting place.

I too have been almost off the radar latley, Ive got big personal problems at the moment. Ive seen the 'no critisism of AA with SMART and to a lesser extent MM first hand. I even experienced critisism of a cult (oxford group off shoot) that has little if any success rate, screws minds and kills people described as NEGATIVE by a leader of an alternative. I mean I ask you how NEGATIVE can you get than promote the stepper cult?

I'm glad you have started a real alternative to steppism and kick steppers out of your group. People dont want to hear that stepper god rubbish spouted out, most just want to sort out their drinking or other problem. I certanly DONT wank to listen to regurgitated cult speak and really wish steppers would just fuck off to their OWN stepper meetings/indoctrination sessions and talk all the garbage they wish. Nobody has any objection to that, if somebody really wants to talk cult BS and entertain grandiose ideas that they have a special purpose to bring ALL people under the control of the stepper god etc then thats fine, they can waste their time carrying out their fantasy to the hearts content. But steppers dont do that. They need to prey on unsuspecting victims to save themselves in step 12. The predators both sexual, control or other NEED fearful bemused victims to thrive, steppism gives them an excellent medium to continue to do this. I watched Cracker last night, a British TV program about a heavy drinking, chain smoking, gambling phycologist who helps the police. One of the conditions (in fact the first) that his wife made before she returned to the matrimonial home was that he attend Gamblers Anonymous. No mention of God or the 12 steps, sexual predators or what wilson and smith were REALLY like. Just the public image that Gamblers Anonymous is a wonderfull organisation, beyond reproach that does nothing but work in the publics interest. Nothing could be further from the truth...GA is just a cult, another off shoot of the oxford group and an AA clone.

The Orange Papers and other anti websites and videos just reinforce what we allready know about the cult from our personal experience, but the truth IS finally out now thanks to the internet and what some may consider as just a trickle, WILL become a raging torrent

i am looking favorably at hams now - total freedom of speech births integrity. let steppers talk like here on orange and critique them equal on the level. when you censor other ideas - you lower yourself.

SMART is just an REBT night for steppers, probably helps to break the monotony of repeating 'they told me' 'I want what they've got' 'charcter defect' etc
