Ocean Hills Recovery in Orange County California utilizes county parks and beaches for recovery - Press Release Aug 07, 2012

Forums:

Ocean Hills Recovery Dana Hills, California has been in business for approximately 5 years in Orange County and heavily utilized the counties parks, beaches and movie theaters for "12 Step treatment" in recovery from addiction and dual diagnosis. Given the fact that Orange County California has a standing ordinance against sex offenders being present in its parks and beaches (see - "Sex Offenders banned in Orange County California Parks unless they get a waiver - AA Sponsor memorial attendee denied" http://www.orange-papers.org/forum/node/2136) and sex offenders are prevented from going to movie theaters where children may be, it begs the question if any Sex offenders participate in the program and are breaking the law under the "anonymity" of the rehab, AA and NA.

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 07, 2012 -
It’s a typical July in Southern California, sun shining, waves crashing on the shore and the smell of sunscreen permeates the air in and around coastal towns up and down the California coast. While many rehabilitation centers focus on education classes and treating clients indoors, Ocean Hills Recovery is having fun in the sun.

On any given day at Ocean Hills Recovery, clients and employees alike can be found laughing, engaging in conversation, and having a blast. While other recovery center clients are basking in fluorescent lights, clients at Ocean Hills are having fun learning to surf. Of course, there are serious moments, and time for education, counseling, and groups, but the amount of work our clients do, allows them to have fun. It is because of their hard work that they have the opportunity to learn to surf, or sun bathe at the beach.
http://OceanHillsRecovery.com utilizes the Bio-Psycho-Social model of recovery as well as the Collaborative Care approach. This mixed modality provides high yielding success rates too. In 2010, 73% of Ocean Hills Recovery clients who checked in for a 90 day program maintained sobriety into 2011. Compared to other treatment centers, Ocean Hills is a breath of fresh air. Whether walking along the coastline, working out at the gym, or yoga at a park with a brilliant view of the Pacific Ocean, Ocean Hills Recovery Clients are having fun.

The clinical staff of Ocean Hills Recovery will deal with each client on an individual level. Emotional and psychological issues are addressed and dealt with; damage that may have been done to their bodies is healed through exercise and proper nutrition. Families are also included in the client’s recovery to help change the atmosphere in which the client developed and cemented their addiction.

http://OceanHillsRecovery.com firmly believes that if you don't learn how to have fun in sobriety, your chances for long-term success are greatly diminished. Bill W., the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, said "We absolutely insist on enjoying life," and you too can take this to heart.

Given that Ocean Hills Recovery in Orange County California utilizes the county parks, beaches and movie theaters, it is doubtful if sex offenders can go to that Rehab Facility.
