AA Might Be For You...

Rarely have we seen a stepper telling the truth, but one correct statement is that AA is not for everyone. Lets see if the 12 Step religion is for you.
AA might be for you...

...if you think making and drinking coffee is an actual 'activity'.
...if listening to drunkalogues, testimonials, confessions, and watching paint dry is your idea of a fun Saturday Night.
...if you like to impress newcomers by pretending to be a spiritual guru by repeating memorized cult slogans over and over and over.
...if you want to read, study, parrot and worship the writings of a lying conman who pretends to talk to dead people to gain spiritual status.
...if you want other people telling you how to live your life.
...if your new friends on average did 2 years in prison.
...if you want your entire life to revolve around the fact you no longer drink alcohol.
...if you want to constantly be reminded of your defects and what is wrong with you, and if you are working the steps over these things even though you are powerless over these things and only God can remove these things.
...if you don't mind pushing the 12 step religion onto every stranger you meet in AA, even if you just met them and know nothing about them or what mental, emotional or social problems they might have.
...if you don't mind pretending to be a spiritual guru, social worker, therapist and addiction expert all rolled into one.

If you have answered yes to 5 of these questions, you are one fucked up indiviual, and the 12 step religion might be a good fit for you.

Actually this list is very informative, can you deny the validity of any of those statements? Of course you can't, you're in denial!

On a side note, your new avatar of "TRUST ME. I'M AN ALCOHOLIC" is very revealing with your psychological problems, you should get them fixed. Have you heard the "I'm an Alcoholic" song by Basket Landing from All Addicts Anonymous, the off shoot that Tom Powers started when he was running from the antics of the madman Bill Wilson?

Doesn't it just warm your heart? You should put it on your IPOD!

"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.

JR Harris says: "Doesn't it just warm your heart? You should put it on your IPOD!" Hell yes, there's a Martin!

I like your avatar, I was thinking of making one that said "It's OK, I'm a DOCTOR, I'm in AA!

thanks JR. I was thinking the same thing. These observations seem accurate to me, and some of them are pretty funny, considering the circumstances. The first one really cracks me up.
I got a new one too.

AA might be for you
... if it doesn't bother you to push a cult religion that has nothing to do with stopping drinking as 'treatment' for alcoholism to desperate people looking for help.

it's too early for meaning and insight

Fucking hysterical! THIS belongs in "A.A. pamphlet form", and should be "assimilated" into a local A.A. meeting's literature collection accordingly! ;)

istjo4,
agreed! great pamphlet & something new & different for AA. A pamphlet that is truthful about AA for a change!

Only someone who created those ten (10) questions, undoubtedly had inside knowledge of those ten (10) activities and did those ten (10) activities on a regular basis. Therefore, YuppieMonkey probably answered "yes" to all ten (10) questions.

I will take that as an admission my observations are 100% accurate.
