4th of July Fires

On a different note, my family and I were going to be spending the holiday visiting family near St. Louis. Practically all fireworks displays have been canceled! This is a major bummer but since the conditions in the midwest have been brutal in terms of drought and fires, I can understand the reasoning. It's a shame for all those that have been suffering through the worst of it.

Hope you have a safe trip. You could at least light a sparkler and wave it around in a tub full of water . . . :)

I am not sure if the parade is still on, I don't see why it wouldn' be though.

We went to the St. Louis 4th celebration for 5 years in a row. It is the best Independence Day celebration I have ever attended.

Yes, it is awesome! The kids look forward to the firworks the most though, and not having it available this year is a bummer. The parade has been great too and you are right lfod, there isn't a reason to cancel that :=) Sparklers and firecrackers with a nearby hose is a next best option for the youngsters. Although I've never had much interest in engaging in firing up some of the bigger bombers on my own.
