This blog post made me laugh

Apparently explaining AA is like teaching a baboon to knit.
We get these type of meetings in the UK as well and they are total crap.
More and more people are seeing through the 12 step crap put out by Wilson and his ignorant followers and posts like this defiantly get the attention of people outside the recovery world who have no idea about the crazy workings of the 12 step world.

Is Duncan Is A Baboon?
"Does this mean I will die? Well yes, eventually.
Does this mean I will drink again? Maybe, but not immediately.
Does this mean that I’ll stop believing in god? Definitely not."

Thanks for posting this.
I found the description of SAA 'super hero' Sean McFarlane who 'oversees the fate of cheating celebrities' very telling.

Well AA is full of so called
Well AA is full of so called Gurus who have set themselves up to influence others. They are just a bunch of slogan spouters with no real ideas or real methods that are of use. They are the type of people that would be ignored everywhere else ,but AA gives these people a platform. They can preach to the converted in that madhouse but are nothing outside it.

sad but true...
... AA does lead to a life of despair, loss, confusion, and ultimately suicide for many. If AAWS could have just been more open to expanding the view that "powerlessness" and "higher power" and the salvation & redemption of working the steps are not the only way and that different views don't have to prevent long term sobriety. Instead, the dogmatism, self-righteous, and authoritarism of the society has served only to narrow the opportunities for real recovery. As a result, we are witnessing the implosion of AA and this has been happening for at least 2 decades. There's nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come....and the end of AA is approaching.

That pretty much sums stepper gurus up.
and the end of AA is approaching.
Yes so some of these stepper gurus are jumping ship to SMART UK..........SMART Recovery have given them the green light and they will eventually implode that organisation.

Oh really? I didn't know that AA'ers were jumping ship to SMART
in the UK. LOLOL!! That certainly explains why on the blog about 13th stepping someone complained and said "the same thing goes on in SMART meetings in australia".....so the AA'er are bringing their nasty habits and criminal behavior to the rooms of SMART...LOLOL....well, this will be fun to watch how SMART deals with it.

SMART UK do not deal with it.
SMART UK do NOT deal with it. When I started a SMART meeting at Turning Point Westmister London (I got a free room at a Treatment Centre), a stepper counsellor physically barred me, the official SMART facilitator, from the building and took the meeting over.
When I reported this to SMART UK they at first took the meeting of the website so she ran it as an unofficial SMART meeting. It has now reappeared on the website and when I queried SMART UK about this, I was told 'she has done a facilitators course'
SMART UK is a joke in my experience. When AA does fold, these stepper true believer deviants will just try to pollute the alternatives. Censorship of Criticism of AA in organisations such as SMART and MM, give them the green light to do this.
This 12 step cancer may well prove very difficult to eradicate entirely. These people may well keep turning up like dog muck, where you least want them for a long time into the future, even when officially AA has held its last cult indoctrination session.
They need to be totally exposed for what they are, lying scare mongering sexual predators and control freaks, NOT let join the alternatives with censorship of those who object to stepper cult speak.
It really is one crazy, sick world, this so called 'recovery movement'

can add this to the list of things AA'ers and recovery industry
promoters have done for years to shut down, quell, quiet, mock, marginalize and dismiss alternatives. I watched this for over a decade while a group of people started a non-profit that housed all five main alternatives; SOS, WFS, SMART, RR, and LifeRing. Now I am in a new city trying to start something up again similar but instead of just making meetings available, I am building the case to educate the professionals in the fields on how to assist clients in getting their own meetings started. This has always been professional negligence and must stop or people will start suing case managers, mental health agencies, therapists, and chemical dependency counselors for malpractice. Better yet, someone should start a class action in each and every state against the State Mental Health Dept. and the Chemical Dependency Boards!! The abuse must stop!!
