What I liked about this list is that it also points out living below your means. I was fortunate to be able to recoup and recover somewhat from some financial lunacy that took place during my drinking. I was involved in a crazy real estate market when even a chimp would have been able to make money. I lived on 50% of what I made and put the rest away for a rainy day. My father passed away and I inherited a third of his estate. While things are more comfortable now... it still behooves me to live a "less is more" lifestyle. We moved to a cheaper place when my husband's job choices were El Paso, Texas or Cleveland, OH. Clothing went from St. John suits to hippie chic, and all the stuff I thought I couldn't live without, I find I live quite well and even better for giving up. Materialism doesn't enter into the equation much in our mountain desert life.
