At the beginning of the month, I doubted that it would hit 2 million. Wow has it accelerated during the month. It ended with like 80,000 hits per day.

You see, exchanges like on this forum do not happen in AA often, and when it does it usually ends up in a tragedy like when Omar Martinez was accused of shooting a pregnant woman in the back of the head at Baldwin Park, California in 2011. People who are questioning the dogma of AA, often won't speak up and just go with the flow. The discussions being held here as well as the slogan defenses the trolls are trying to use are being updated real time, and many of the AA members who come here to look are starting to see the curricular logic of the AA faith and it is getting global coverage.

I think that many more AA members are starting to question the dogma because of what they are seeing on the Orange Papers. It is only a matter of time.

"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.

A "hit" is as good as a mile. Where are they all? Down the road at the bar? Back in the meetings? They sure aren't here.

“The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks.”
― Christopher Hitchens, Letters to a Young Contrarian

I am here.

But, posting can feel quite intimidating.

Getting the truth out there to as many people as possible before they get shackled to garbage dogma for life. Congratulations Orange, long live technology and the information age.
My wife talked to an AA friend today that has 25 years sober. She told my wife she cannot stand another meeting, it was that bad. My wife told her she is where I was at...rock bottom. I told her to tell her friend she was finally getting well.
Earlier this week I had a conversation with a friend who has 15 years sober. He says he sits at meetings surrounded by convicts. He also said he didn't hang around people like this when he was drinking! He thought AA was supposed to improve his life and asked me what he should do. I reminded him he was talking to somebody who threw ALL his AA paraphenelia in the trash two years ago and hasn't looked back! Lol.
Anyways, great news. And to think a new volleyball league starts Monday evening too. I can hardly wait to be out there having fun and getting all that excercise. The pool is about ready for swimming and the yard looks great. Boy, that death warrant Bill said was coming my way sure is painful.

If you "google" "Anti-AA Sites", I have no doubt that "orange-papers.org" comes up first and foremost! The reason the number of people on this forum is NOT equal to the number of the people visiting the "OP" sites, is because they are so EXTENSIVE, they are all getting lost in the quantity of material on the sites! ;)

you have perfectly described my experience of searching for information.

Ho-hum. A -21.22 percentage drop for June. That's right, a negative (decrease).

That's because of the Summer Slump. It always happens, every year. People go out and play in the sunshine, rather than staying indoors and slaving over a hot computer. And I don't blame them in the slightest.

The usual pattern is that the web site hits peak in March, and then slump down through the summer, and then start picking back up again in September, and rise up through the winter, to peak again in March.

This year, the peak was in March, and it slumped down a little in April, as usual, but then it skyrocketed in May. And it's still way about average. Only 23,000 short of 2 million hits in June.

So I'm not going to worry about it. It's like the tides in the ocean, it goes up, it goes down. Although both the overall sea levels and the Orange Papers traffic are steadily rising.

That's because may was a big brawl month LOL

Apparently my name & phone number are still on the AA Phone List at the club. I thought about having it taken off the list, but now I think not. Two new women got my number from the list & called me shortly after I left AA in May. I was almost lost for words at first. New people are so fragile at first when seeking help, ya know? Each asked why I left & I told them I have found a better path that fits me; that despite what AA says -- theirs is not the only path. I'm doing fabulously on my own, I told them, and they can too! I told them to call me back anytime if they were interested.

As an added measure, I made the suggestion that they visit the OP site - a great source of valuable information. I put the 'hugs in a plugs!' LOL

Rainbow's 12th Stomp: "Having woken up from AA-induced coma, as a result of leaving AA for good, I carry the OP message to other potentially indoctrinated free-thinkers, benefiting myself and helping them benefit in all their affairs as well."

Rainbow's 9th Stomp:
"Made a living amends to all of humanity whenever possible, spiritually bringing my karma back into balance, nullifying any and all AA-recruiting 12 Step Calls I unconsciously did in my past."

DISCLAIMER: I must have been in an AA blackout whenever I did those things, and I suspect my stale lukewarm coffee was spiked with LSD while my back was turned toward the exit door. If so, I wasn't responsible for anything. I had no part in it.

Why I woke up in zombie pajamas is a mystery... ; )
