The recovery ghouls of Alcoholics Anonymous will be chomping at the bit to say the usual slogans about her death to boost AA enrollment, interventions, AAWS and Hazelden literature sales. I also expect many reporters to infiltrate the picnic as well as the AA meetings in the area looking for a "scoop" on the story in the next 2 weeks.

"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.

I agree. Poor thing. The crap she had to put up from Mr Kennedy. I bet he demanded she go to AA and have to sit next to his AA girlfriend. How Fucked up is that. Those kids need to know we are here.

He needs a wake up call from Massive. Oh shit...thats me. See you in Katonah. Just kidding.

I know a Doctor who knows the Kennedy family. I gave him Hank Hayes book last week right before this happened.

*smile* just trying to be helpful, not critical. I have typos all the time and also multi-task many sites. I always enjoy your posts, btw. Always informative and interesting. Thank you!

Often times when dealing with AA, the arguments always end up being the "Spiritual, not Religious" circular logic argument and the big picture is never really explored. The AA faithful love that argument and have a field day with sloganized defenses for it. I just give other options, much like you were trying to bring poetry into focus. I do believe that poetry is a viable media.

I can see that. You also clearly do a lot of research which is important when presenting a valid point you want to make. I've learned a lot from your posts.

Maybe I'll try the poetry thing here again. It went over like a lead balloon last time I tried it. heh ... Oh well. Seems many people are more interested in arguing with each other about petty personal issues than anything else, and the personal attacks run rampant on this site. It's unfortunate and I feel bad that lately, I've actually been pulled into participating in the nonsense. It's really futile and takes away from the atmosphere of a site where intelligent people can discuss important issues. So, I'm hoping I don't allow myself to get swept into it in the future. It's just so very pitiful that grown adults are so rude to each other. I think it stems from those in AA being continually told they're no good and have amoral disease, which causes them to lash out at other people.

Anyway, shutting up now so others can focus on your intent of this thread. Not meaning to hijack it. Sorry! I talk a lot (too much) sometimes.

Everyone will be asking, in a whisper, who was Bill W's last toss in the hay, Helen Wynn, Lois W, his deathbed male nurse, or some other 13 stepped babe.

we drop the bar, once we were only interested in bottom end drinkers, then we found others who hadn't fell so far were also helped by this miraculus program, as things progressed we saw we could be of benefit to 6 beer binge drinkers.
