Hello to everyone. I'm kind of new here. Pleased to 'meet' you all!

I have been a frequent visitor to the orange papers over the years and I attribute Agent Orange as being instrumental in my enlightenment and subsequent decision to abandon the death cult known as AA. When I first starting going to AA, many years ago, I kind of knew straight away that it was all mumbo jumbo bullshit. I guess I just needed someone to back up my assumptions and I got that, quite spectacularly, from the Orange Papers.

With regard to the Orange Papers forum, I suppose I've been a bit of a lurker. I only discovered there was a forum a few weeks ago and I started reading the forum posts instead of the main web site. I have to say it is quite an interesting forum. There seems to be a lot of clever drunks! (joke!)

I can't say I'll post much but hey, you never know?

There does seem to be quite a bit of bickering that goes on? There seems to be a lot of character assinations taking place? Well, I suppose things can get quite heated when people are 'discussing' things that they believe passionately in.

A big thank you to you Agent Orange for creating such an informative website.

Cheers!

Do not confuse discussion with the constant blustering of the resident trolls here.

Welcome to the forum Unhinged.

Go ahead, enjoy yourselves - it's getting late, much later than you think.

Hey there Unhinged, welcome;)

Hello and hope you find the forum useful. I found the the papers were a great help to me when I was thinking about leaving that madhouse called AA. This place does get overrun by some rather sad steppers who have nothing better to do than sit behind a computer all day and argue with people that think they are retarded, but then anyone who believes in the program is going to be rather quaint. Anyway I'm sure you will soon master skimming over three or four members posts.
When I look back I cannot believe that I spent time in those meetings listening to that sick shit. I'm glad I really threw myself into recovery an got some one on one help as well as having access to the web and some good books. It made me realise that AA was a waste of time and that it was having a negative effect on me. I felt pretty stupid that I had bothered with it for a while and was angry that I had been duped but that passed after letting off a bit of steam in various places such as stinkin thinkin.

Hi There and welcome, this is a great place to break the no talk rule of the dysfunctional 12 step system. This is where all and everything is open to discussion regarding steppism. Feel free to vent and rant , it is helpful to get if off your chest and speak your truth.

Welcome to the show.

unhinged-

welcome to the forum. I find this a great place for me to vent and speak my mind after leaving AA last year after any years in it, and drinking the koolaid. OP really opened my eyes. I created two site. First www.stop13stepinaa.wordpress.com when I was still in and trying to make it safer from within.

Then www.leavingaa.com when I left and Stinkin -thinkin was no longer a blogging site. There are many of us.

money, power, movie people, actors, writers, producers somehow wound up here. They like to hang out with each other and think they are going to climb on their backs. The Pacific Group is a cult of all cults in AA.

I would think this could be true given all the celebrity support to the Midnight Mission. Like people tend to congregate.

Remember Christopher Stevens when you vote.

Clancy is using the fellowship for his own gain. He is well known on all continents as a womanizer, anti-medication proponent of AA and he pretends to speak for AA using his "Sponsorship" groups based out of the definite "cult-like" Pacific Group in California. The Midnight mission has 48 million in Assets, Clancy has no visible means of support and lives like a millionaire. He should be audited by the IRS.

Besides that everything else seems OK.

"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.

Welcome to the chaos. Yes, things do sometimes get heated. I wish people would tone it down a bit, but I can understand how people get passionate about life or death issues.

I am reminded of the wars between the Catholics and Protestants in the Middle Ages. Millions died before they finally learned to cool it. And both sides argued that they were saving the immortal souls of the unfortunates.

Oh well, have a good day anyway.
