The Midnight Mission in Los Angeles, working for the Skid Row Alcoholic - are they really?

Why is the non-paid Managing Director Clancy Imislund going on world tour with various females and numerous high profile millionaires promoting "Sponsorship Groups?" Clancy is a self avowed skid row alcoholic. Why does he live like a millionaire? Where does Clancy Imislund get his money from?

The Midnight Mission - a history of continuity, consistency, and accomplishment

Responding to community needs with visionary leadership, perseverance and skill.

The Midnight Mission is one of the oldest continuously operating human service organizations in the Los Angeles region. Centered in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles, The Midnight Mission runs one of the most efficient direct service operations in the county. With only four (4) executive managers throughout its ninety-eight (98) year history, The Midnight Mission has been a consistent beacon of light for those with no where else to turn.

In 1914, Tom Liddecoat, nicknamed “father of the poor” opened the doors of The Midnight Mission as refuge to the men of Skid Row. A successful businessman and lay minister, Liddecoat would serve a meal at midnight (hence the origin of the name) after church services were completed. Realizing the need to offer more than a meal and that additional resources were necessary, Liddecoat sought help from the local community.

In 1933, Henry Richman was named managing director and led the organization through the depression of the 1930's. The Midnight Mission was designated "California Emergency Relief Station No.1" by the federal government. Under Richman the organization discontinued religious services and affiliation.

In 1973, Clancy Imislund was selected to continue the already successful enterprise. A recovering alcoholic himself, Clancy brought a level of empathy that is difficult to match. A strong manager, he led the organization through the dramatic changes that occurred on Skid Row over the next thirty years.

In 1998, Larry Adamson, a board member and former corporate executive was recruited to lead the Mission. He has led the organization through increasingly complicated and difficult times for the region's poorest citizens. He championed designing, building and opening our new state of the art facility to handle the growing diverse populations that we now serve.

These compassionate men joined the Board of Directors, Donors and Volunteers to develop innovative, timely and effective programs for the men, women and children of Los Angeles. From our humble beginnings as a charitable act of one man to the complex multi-disciplined organization that we are today, the organization has benefited from the consistent, compassionate and competent leadership.

Clancy recovered financially through hard work and a series of good jobs. He's lived in the same house for something like 40 years, and paid it off 10 years ago. That's one way to do it, living beneath your means.

Remember Christopher Stevens when you vote.

He is an unpaid managing director of the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles. He should be there taking care of the skid row bums. Not flying all over the world promoting "sponsorship groups", he should be fired and his passport revoked until he confesses ( and not in a step 4 or 5. In a court of law). the Midnight Mission makes more money that AAWS and has more assets. There is definitely something wrong in his unpaid position.

P.S. thank you Clara for allowing these links to be reactivated. Aacultwatch is very grateful.

Is the Midnight Mission spending it's assets in Los Angeles? Who pays for Clancy Imislund, the managing directors trips and his trips all over the world? Shouldn't he be helping the skid row Alcoholic the "Mission" is designed for?
