Can someone who hasn't been to an AA meeting for 20 years even know what goes on at an Alocholics Anonymous ritual ceremony today?

I haven't been to a meeting in 20 years, NoAAUK. Even back then I heard "don't get into a new relationship within the first year", but I had also read the Big Book and I knew damn well that was not part of the program.

As it went, I did not start up any new relationship until year nine. It wasn't because of anything anyone said or didn't say to me. It's because I wasn't interested.

Before I started posting here I read lots and lots of posts from pro- and anti-AA people. There was a Marietta Davis, but no Marietta Davies. I found her posts thoughtful when she wasn't swatting at gnats like the majority of posters here on the forum.

Coercees are not considered volunteers in anyone's dictionary. So court-mandated attendees are not even in this loop. Your reference to Jails, Institutions or death is trite. If anyone is put off by this so-called "threat" they can leave at any time. The quote from page 58 of the Big Book is not germane to the topic.

If you're not a zombie, great. If you are a zombie, great. In either case you have chosen your path. I didn't become a zombie and I don't have a single friend from my AA days who either left or stayed within the group who is a zombie. You people allow yourselves to be manipulated and jerked around. Those without ingenuity are the ones who succumb to the safety of the "AA" womb, and today's AA doesn't appear to offer much in the way of support. It seems like rude, blathering, rote existence and I want no part of it.

I know I've asked it frequently, but are you sure you went to AA? AA is the cult that finishes its indoctrination sessions with holding hands and chanting "keep coming back it works" and saying the same things over and over and over again

Your just trying to promote the stepper cult, the same as the other AAers that pop upon this forum. Its what steppers do, promote the cult. Some believe it guarentees their sobriety, others believe it provides them with a constant suppy of fresh desparate victims to control or sexualy conquer or both. Others have diferent equally self serving requirements for stepper cult promotion

I counter over-the-top smear campaigns against individual thought. AA is not my baby any more than it is yours, although you attended for twice the number of years that I did.
