For me, it is personalities over principle verses the reverse, which is a good practice to follow even if you aren't an AA. I learned it before every coming into the program.
I believe the regular posters do come to OPF to get their blood going. The reason I say this is because I can have the same position on OPF that someone else will support on RFR, but they slam it on OPF due to the personality involved. Go to judicial abuses to see an example.
The Fourth Tradition ensures that each group can do pretty much what it wants. Let's relate that tradition to the practice of not wanting to cooperate with the courts with "coercees". I've described them the same was as Avo's opening link does - not wanting to be there, rolling their eyes, no participation, etc. We don't want them there due to the third tradition which relates to personal desire, yet I was regaled to the point of abuse for adhering to the group conscience of not signing cards in hopes that the party will find a meeting that will. Look at the responses on RFR. They seem to support a group's right to do as it wants and to not participate. Why the difference? The position here is to support the "coercee" no matter what.
Religion is old hat and is being taken over by the new age "Spirituality" that was popularized by Bill Wilson when he effectively, with help from the medical community looking to fill hospital beds with a disease cured by faith healing, changed the perception and definition of the word Spiritual.
You can quickly tell the evangelists spreading the new age Bill Wilson religion by the way they use the scripture of the prophet with statements such as "principles before personalities", etc.....
Bill Wilson and the new age religions he has started are seeping into main stream religion and holds its rituals in their basements and unfortunately even make it into the actual chapel. Is this a Religious War, No! It is Spiritual War using the definition for Spirituality that Dr. Bob and Bill W cooked up on Mothers Day May 12, 1935 to talk people into joining the cult of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Looking out for the suffering addict includes letting them know that AA does not improve on the rate of natural remission while increasing the mortality rate. The few who stay sober in AA make wild, unsubstantiated claims about the effectiveness of the program when what they are peddling is faith healing.
The record holder for comments on a blog here in 2012 is a blog on March 3; it had 558 comments. The topic was about all the trolls on this site, specifically naming two people. People that merely shared different views from what this site preaches. As such, they were targeted and gleefully hated on.
Second biggest in 2012? May 15, it was a very negative anti-A.A. blog. Again, hate mongers gathered in glee. Anybody opposing that view . . . targeted and hated on. Totaled 555 comments.
3rd was a blog I posted, July 7. Basically pointing out the fallacious anti filled arguments people had against A.A. I had just heard about this site a couple of days prior. Again, people gathered with gleeful hate. 446 comments. Since then the largest commented blog (209 comments) is about how I deleted my comments; much name calling, hate spewing, etc. towards me. I quickly realized that there is no logic here, merely A.A. hate.
I came here because I was hoping to receive positive alternative view(s). I understand A.A. is not perfect nor, is it for everybody. I say to each their own, whatever can keep you happy and sober. However, the major view here is not so open. It is merely negative anti-A.A. Anything which supports any anti-A.A. view keeps the cogs on this site greased and going. Anything in contradiction is viewed as cancer with blinded and unquestioned prejudice, regardless of the logic; and then there's the childish name calling: steppers, Wilsonites, the cult, etc.
Most have vowed to ignore me now. Which has made my visits here much more pleasant. I was seriously considering not even visiting; but it does contain an occasional good alternative view and much entertainment from the senseless logic, more than anything.
Just a little informative. Have a nice day : )

"From time to time a member of the AA faith stumbles into the Orange Papers Forum with their claws out looking for a place to scratch the eyes out of the activists and journalists exposing the true meaning of being an AA member. While this stray cat tendency of trying to protect their prospect hunting grounds is commendable, it is also very deadly for the people that realize that AA is not for them. They need a place to come on this forum and take a shit, therefore I thought it might be a good idea to give them a place to do this.

Actually it is not a "Religious War" it's a "Spiritual War"

Comment will be deleted soon..............
First-Things-First has a well documented habit of doing that during his melt downs, he then brags about it. Do you really want what this troll has?
