I like to contribute occasionally, and it's always the steppers who lose it. I think I'll be ready to post my findings in the not too distant future. I don't think the majority of people who go to meetings are bad in any way, I've met a lot of great people, but the 12 Steps will definitely make a person crazy and I've no desire to go anywhere near that world again.

I've been accused of "losing it" here. AA Haters love to characterize me as a person who "loses it". I get riled up like anyone else, particularly in the face of outright lies and deceit, but I don't "lose it". I have an incredible reserve for that kind of behavior and it has never been tapped here. Usually when someone accuses me of "losing it", they do so to shut down a discussion in which they are failing to make their point or they have lost ammunition. They say I've "lost it", or I've "had a meltdown"; they try to kick up a little sand, and they go off and pout, after they have insulted me in some way.

I don't think I've seen Clara lose it. But I certainly saw btnben lose it over and over and over and over and over, where he had to resort to telling me to "go fuck" myself, to "get fucked" or to "fuck off". Lots of AA haters have lost it, and then they try to camouflage their uncool with verbiage or insults. It's not any particular group that loses it. It's the person who can't defend his position.
