Russel Brand takes the plunge and tattoos himself with the scripture from AA Bill Wilson - Aug 2012

Taking after many of the AA faith, Russel Brand has chosen to take the ultimate sacrifice (besides dying and becoming a martyr to Alcoholics Anonymous worshipers) and tattoos himself with the scripture from Bill Wilson and the necromancy inspired 12&12 with the words "Lord, make a channel of thy peace." The art of tattoo is semi-permanent and can sometimes be removed without a scar and the choice of a tattoo is very important because of this.

Once the Honeymoon is over and your family unit has been destroyed through the help of Al-Anon and Alateen you may wish to choose your tattoo wisely. Imagine having a tattoo of your first wife's name on your chest to remind your third wife all about it? (Something that can very easily happen in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous filled with members recruited from jails and prisons.)

Russel Brand’s new ink, a reminder of his drug addiction days

British comedian Russel Brand's battle with drug addiction might be old news but he sure won't be forgetting it his whole life. Sporting a new tattoo across his right arm with the words, "Lord, make a channel of thy peace" Russel Brand has made sure he never revisits that dark phase of his life with the perfect reminder of his new ink. These words are from the prayer of St. Francis and it even appears in an Alcoholics Anonymous book called Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.

The tattoo was spotted when Russel stepped out in Los Angeles barefoot and showing off his new religious ink. Even though the comedian/ actor has left the wild partying days behind the tattoo would be a reminder and his encouragement to move on and surely he has succeeded in doing so. Russell is now known for leading a healthy lifestyle and an ardent practitioner of yoga. Wearing ripped jeans, black vest over a grey singlet top with dark mirrored shades and his neck layered with prayer beads the actor was seen carrying health drinks in each hand.

In a TV documentary the 37 year old actor said while watching his footage when he was twenty something, smoking heroine in a dirty Hackney flat 'This is when you know it's a disease. It doesn't matter that I was sat in that flat in Hackney and now I'm in the Savoy. I'm jealous of me then. 'It doesn't make a difference to me. The money, the fame, the power, the sex, the women - none of it. I'd rather be a drug addict,' admitting he missed those days and would any day choose to be a drug addict rather than an international superstar.
