A few months back I made the mistake of revealing on craigslist forums that my son is bisexual.
Since that time another poster on craigslist has been mimicking my handle and posting all kinds of nasty homophobic remarks about my son and I.
This is a sensitive subject for the entire family because, a few years back my son was so confused about his sexuality that he chose to try to commit suicide. It was a very serious suicide attempt. At the time the whole family gathered in support and let him know that his sexuality was his choice, and that no one was going to hate him for the choices that he has made.
Today Clara has chosen to go to another forum and accuse me of saying things about my son that I've never said. She has gone on further to make the same allegations posting on this forum.

I consider this a personal attack against my son and my family.

Gunthar, I am sure that you delighted in creating the forum this morning but now it is something that has gone awry. I never brought your son into anything. Never even knew you had one until today. I didn't post those posts - you did - and I hadn't read them.

I think our families are off limits. I think our facebooks and personal photos are, too. I think even our public records are... not that I ever denied numerous arrests and DUIs. This "gotcha" game on OPF, which even includes all the Danny references, should just stop - for everyone. Why do we need to have links to go best someone at a site? If we think Danny is blogging on a site, so what? He eventually trips himself up and gets booted, so why does it have to take over the board? Why is there such a need to feel like we know something about someone else? None of it is necessary.

Why can't everyone just post what they want to?

I propose that we stop it. Orange doesn't have criteria, but the just person cannot be made to be unjust.

I DID read your call to arms there as did others. I only went there when you disputed you had posted it. As a moderator, you can delets posts, and you are a moderator at RFR.com.

Do you actually know any strictly gay people? I think we all have some measure of bisexuality in us, but there are millions of degrees of it and it manifests differently from person to person. But strictly gay is a something entirely different. And you are saying that every gay man and every lesbian chooses his/her sexuality, that they are not hardwired from birth?

I don't believe it's a choice for all. I think it is less of a choice for men than women. I think some women get sick and tired of the bullshit men put out and find compatibility and deep love and safety and honesty with a partner of the same sex. Some men find the same with a same sex partner, but I think for different reasons, and I also believe there are many men who are simply more xx than xy, but are born in xy bodies.

All theory, but I do agree that whatever the reason, it's not cause for a ruckus. It's no one's business but the person living that life.
