I may only have one vote, but I have countless fans! Thank you! Thank you!!

Strife sells. If the S-man would refine his auto-abuse (or at least his coherence), he might edge you out.

Why I do declayah, Billeh! You mean ah'm in daynjah of losin agin?? Whutevah would ah do as a losah on th' ornj papahs fo-rum? Ah shuud jus' stay heah fo-evah till somebodeh loves meh.

Yeah. Fo-evah ...

Is that a depending-on-the-kindness-of-strangers southern accent thing or some kind of weird indefinite mockery schtick you doing there? Whichever, not sufficient to garner my vote. What's you special talent; what wins you forum-wide acclaim and quivering tip-toes from your brow-beaten admirers?

Come on, sweetie; I know you have it in you ...

What do you want? A pole dance or a treatise on jazz style in Kansas City and the Southwest?

Vote your conscience.

While the internet fails to communicate tone, I detect, from this ludicrous selection and terse reprimand, derision and an argumentative stance.

My heart's aflutter!
*blushes*

(Supposing I'm mistaken - not uncommon; might you combine those activities into one performance?)

(Jesus, the things a girl's gotta do for a vote ...)

Thanks. This will complement well Stearns' quintessential Story of Jazz and keep me occupied imagining the graceful maneuvers you'll execute to the style's accompaniment around the pole.

Will be twirling to the mellifluous tones of Poleman Hawkins ...

The non pole dance one. Anything but the pole dance one...lol

God damn it, get me a whiskey

I just read this conversation, and it is creepy.

I arise when you rub the magic lamp. oo, that's not a lamp; works just as well

This mutual love fest is very typical inside the cult. This is one of the benefits of cult religion, you make easy instant friends with other true believers. All you need to know about the other person is that they are also a "friend of Bill W's". So this means that they can "gain your confidence" like no normie can do, because they understand your disease better. This includes even longtime friends and close family. They love to engage in inside jokes and insider lingo, much like 'cool' cliques in junior high school. Nothing else is really of any importance either. All they care about is where you stand with the dogma, and how much the steps have helped you recover and have brought you closer to God.
You know what is really creepy? When oldtimers who have been going to AA for decades laugh over the same jokes at meetings that they have been telling each other for years. CREEPY!!

How would you know what being an insider is like unless *gasp* you know what being an insider is like? I'm an AA newb (relatively) and a private introverted person with few friends, but thanks for the "insights". Also I'm phlegmatic and likely wouldn't much enjoy marietta's actual presence; still I find her nimble mind and feisty attitude engaging. Since when did idle banter become conspiracy?

Do you feel unloved, msafrany? Maybe don't spew sour grapes and do try a little coquetry. Playful teasing could happen to you too!

Kinda figured this exchange was making you feel "loved". I'm sure those lines are working great for you. No surprise at all that you are a private introverted person with few friends and are relatively new to boot, you make a great prospect for cult religion.

Take the loud, brash, cynical person who believes he has more friends than he can count and has enviable worldly experience. Does it follow that he does The Perfect Job protesting too much about freedom from xA dogma?

More stereotyping. O the shame ...

Here's a prime example of an AA insider attempting to emotionally manipulate someone into stepper clutches. I'm mature and sane enough to resist his insidious methods; thought you might want to take a look and gauge his proficiency.

Marietta, great job rushing to the rescue of your fellow stepper.
Love it! Keep on trolling.
I know you are on this forum arguing with us for all the right reasons.

Jealousy looks good on you, frany! It makes you look so much ... younger.

It is not jealousy. My secret is I pick a side and stick to where I belong. I don't wear myself down being an internet troll. I don't have to have an opinion about every thread, nor do I have to argue with every opinion on every thread, and I don't have to have the last word on every argument of every opinion on every thread.
Try to find some peace, you poor thing. It's only the two of you over here, the newcomer poet Shakespeare, and you that hardly even goes to AA. It must be exhausting. But like you explained many times, your reasons for being a troll are very noble. Keep coming back.

Hurt, but I'll live :)

And you know never to entertain suggestion regarding internet acquaintance. After all, we could just as easily mesh perfectly in real life, like soothing hand in luxurious glove.

See?! Now I'm thinking about exquisite little deaths :)
