BLYTHE - Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) Warden J. Tim Ochoa and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcohol Anonymous (AA) CVSP sponsors Erin Barnes, Julia Black and Maggie Sandoval presented a $2,150 check to Twin Palms High School Principal Meliton Sanchez, on June 12.

The donation helped to offset the cost for the 2012 Senior Trip and the graduating senior pictures.

"We could identify with the group of students at the Twin Palms Continuation High School and felt by making this donation it might help them to achieve higher goals and from going down the wrong road," said NA group Inmate Chairman Shann Sevior. "We also appreciate the opportunity to give back and make amends to the communities."

Sanchez said, "I would like to thank the inmate groups at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison for their support; our senior activities would not have been possible without their donation."

On that same day that the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) groups of Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) gave a check to the local high school of Twin Palms Continuation High School (which by the way has the highest score obtainable by the state of California and has only 74 students http://www.publicschoolreview.com/school_ov/school_id/10557) the Prison was having its own graduation of 83 students in varying degree and certificate programs. the comments on the article are very interesting.....
