Pennywise almost always answers my questions, Trisha. There are a lot of inequities on this forum; we calls em as we sees em and then keep trudging toward some kind of "truth", although I've certainly noticed my truth is different than Persephone's, and I wouldn't trade my truth for patti's under any circumstances.

The meetings where you go are full. Full of what though? How many of the people attending are there voluntarily? How many of the people there are forced to attend? How many people that are there are the core group who belong more than a few weeks, months or less than a year?

JJ says; The mtgs out here on long island are booming, parking lots are full to the hilt. Standing room only at the giant hospital mtg on sunday morning. Speaker needs a microphone so the back of the room can hear them. Oh yeah, there are NO mandates on Long Island. Check it out, try to prove me wrong. They are currently selling tickets to the SHARATHON at ST Josephs college in august. AA is going strong in NY. Dont fool yourself into believing that these silly little anti-AA forums are closing ANY AA mtg doors. Just saying.

who thinks these anti AA forums are effecting AA. AA always been a failure, less than 5% become sober & clean that try AA. AA fails over 95% of the people who try it, AA has failed all on its own. AA has rooms full of mandated attendees, they have been AAs bread & butter for years. This is common knowledge. Terrible, damaging abuses occur in AA daily. Of course they do, that is what happens when a bunch of unqualified brain washed cult members parrot the unqualified & dangerous anecdotal psychiatric advise of the immoral Wilson. No AA is going to bury itself all by itself. No one has to do it. Its going to hang itself, not an if, it is just a matter of when.

Of the 95% AA "has failed all on its own", what percentage never intended to quit drinking in the first place? How many were strong-armed into going by an employer or a spouse and then decided to just blow them off, that it wasn't worth it, that they'd rather just drink? How many left and decided to implement some of what they heard in meetings but to discard the rest? You have no way of knowing the answers to these questions, so don't even try. They are rhetorical questions, patti. r-h-e-t-o-r-i-c-a-l.

If AA is going to bury itself, please explain your insistence on being heard from the hate corner. If AA needs no help in imploding, please find a hobby. You could be a perfect art critic: someone who has no artistic talent but insists on critiquing the efforts of others.

I also have to add that I totally see why nobody in AA liked you and why the roofer you were in love with chose the better looking more refined woman over you. Dont be bitter, its such an ugly emotion. I have seen it happen many times in and outside of AA. A woman gets rejected or used and starts hating on everything. Some scream 13th step!
