We had a lot of fun, boating, camping, having picnics and parties, some went to Europe on a group trip. Life was very good.
And this has what, exactly, to do with AA?

For me, it was chaning the people I hung out with in bars to people that lived beyond that. That they did all of these things wihout drinking and having the cooler of beer around. It was the fellowship and camaraderie. It was very important. Gigi. I literally didn't know people before that didn't drink. This group of friends were felllowship based. Of course, their spouses might not be, but they were lovely people, too.

You've been here for months, Clara. And, yet, this is the best example that you can give of why people get angry about their experiences in AA? Really? If you are here to learn, as you've stated numerous times, I'd say you've failed the course. Time to switch majors.

I am looking at examples people give, Gigi, not that i agree with them. I have seen people post that they lent money to AA members and it didn't come back, which was a reason to hate AA. But if they had shown some common sense and asked a sponsor for an opinion, they might not be boohooing over getting taken. Tehre is nothing in the literature that says you have to lend money.

Beckett,
you remind so much of this asshole that was @ every meeting. He was always commenting on how intelligent he was. He actually used to tell anybody that would listen & we did get stuck hearing it over & over that his intelligence was off the charts because his therapist Sandy said so! Anyway, like you he always tried to belittle & demean other people for their thoughts & feelings & he had a bad bad case of AA holier than thou pious hypocrite. This guy was just so obnoxious & sad. My self & a few friends had started asking him when he brought up his genius off the charts IQ all the time, why didn't he just join Mensa & interact with his own kind. He would always tell us we knew nothing, our opinions, feelings & thoughts were worthless. Very similar to your rap. So why don't you go join Mensa & hang with intellects, I mean if you can get in. If not there must be a book club or something you can terrorize. And then there is always AA you can always return & interact with people there.
