4 Things you might not have known about your Cell Phone

4 Things you might not have known about your Cell Phone

For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.)

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival.

Check out the things that you can do with it:
FIRST (Emergency)
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
SECOND (Hidden Battery Power)
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.
THIRD (How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? )
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone:
*#06# .
A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

And Finally....
FOURTH (Free Directory Service for Cells)
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial:
(800) FREE411 or (800) 373-3411
without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.
This is sponsored by McDonalds.
This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.

McDonalds is the murder capitol of the...........well,................everywhere. So they should sponsor free access to emergency numbers.

There are more criminals attending McDonalds than AA.

Federal Law
Federal Regulations
FCC Regulations Concerning Cell Phone GPS Tracking

By Darci Pauser, eHow Contributor

The Federal Communications Commission requires cell phone manufacturers to include GPS technology in every phone, which the FCC says can aid in locating a cell phone user in an emergency.

911 Act

FCC regulations concerning cell phone GPS tracking began with the basic 911 Act. The 911 Act requires cell phone service providers to route all 911 calls to a Public Safety Answering Point, or 911 call center, whether or not the cell phone user subscribes to wireless service.
E911 Phase 1

The FCC expanded upon the basic 911 Act to form the Enhanced 911 Act, enacted in two phases. E911 Phase 1 requires cell phone providers to release location information of the cellular base station so that emergency responders may better locate an individual.
E911 Phase 2

Phase 2 of the E911 Act requires cell phone service providers to procure and release cell users' Automatic Location Identification information to emergency responders, which involves GPS, triangulation and Wi-Fi technologies.

While there are some older phones that do not have a GPS chip, this is slowly being phased out. You can also check out this site for more info. http://www.fcc.gov/guides/wireless-911-services

Bonus Facts: China has implemented a policy of tracking activists through their cellphones without them knowing it.......

You are saying that McDonalds is not the enabler, the US is actually the murder capitol of the world, and that criminals are attending the US?

What if I eat more chicken?

Why did you post this Danny?

AA is a religious cult dressed up to look like a treatment for alcoholism.

What the fuck are you on about, you nutter?

This is a forum for people concerned about the negative effects of 12-step programs. Perhaps you haven't realized that?

To activate a cellphone, especially a disposable one, you need to call from a land line leaving at least a trail to some physical address and the time and date of activation. Unless someone is using a stolen already activated one there is always a paper trail. The serial number of the phone you are talking about actually acts as a type of MAC address that is unique by manufacturers and is sent every time you connect to a cell tower. The police do not need a warrant to find out who registered that phone via a land line, depending upon the cell service, they provide a document the police can just send into them and find out. If you research it you will see that this is done often, especially when children are involved. If that phone number is reported, it acts as a beacon and the only thing you can do is smash it to pieces so it won't be found, but they will still be able to find out where it was activated from. Remember, the police have access to the GPS location of the phone much like they have access because of 911, it is a public service.
