You come on a site where alcoholics and drug addicts have suffered through addictions and promote your drug use and what not. Then when everything goes freaking screwy for you, you then want sympathy from everyone. You repeat this silly behavior over and over.

Yes, Orange stated that dissenting opinions are fine, and I happen to agree with him on that point. How is it a dissenting opinion to tell a new member here to "fuck off", exactly? Don't turn this around and try to play victim, no one's going to your AA turf and starting fights there.

I have never heard orange ever say, "this site caterers to the unhappy people who were once in AA and only them". I have heard him say that he wrote down opinions, beliefs and facts (as he sees them) and posted them.

What many don't know is Cause was accused of the same very nasty, filthy despicable actions herself on another site, she was also involved on Stinkin Thinkin of the same despicable behavior. Orange banned Danny (which he would not do today under the same circumstances) because Danny accurately and honestly copied a post from another site describing the retched behavior of another member here. It seems you know a lot about this incident don't you Causy.
If one would also read back a few months ago they would see where you "CAUSY" were accusing Danny of the same behavior.
Causy you see how it all comes around on you. You are dishonest and a manipulator, it took Orange time to figure out who you and your friends really are. I am so glad I am here today to see it...lmao!!!!
I heard all the crap about Danny when I first got here. What I know today, is this Danny character is something JR Harris and CauseandEffect made up or adopted from somewhere else. They needed this fictitious person to use as a deterrent, so they can create obstacles on this site.
As I told ben a week ago, who freaking cares if I am Danny or not. You have no say at all, no authority, no influence. This is all Oranges. If you don't like it, to bad, deal with it.

On the bright side, I can honestly say I bring a perspective of AA that many might not know. AA was much less hung up on "rules" and the like when I entered into it. The saying "take what you need and leave the rest" really worked in 1977. Nowadays, no way.

I was just thinking the exact same thing! A number of the old timers (women especially) I met in AA have said that time and time again. I wish I had asked them to elaborate when I had the chance. I'd love to know how it was so different.

Lee has 33 years in the fellowship and she made similar remarks. Everyone wanted to be there, they got dressed up for meetings, they enjoyed them and participated. People wanted to get well and had a personal motive for that. She believes that AA has changed in part to the mandates. People just participate on a minimum level to get something they want beyond sobriety - to get their children back or to remedy a drug court, something that shouldn't be in AA to begin with. And then they are gone when the heat is off. The change in EP has to do with the large meth situation in NM and west Texas.

Yes, it was very different "back in the day." One meeting per week was the norm. Coffee after the meeting was all that made it worth going to the meeting (guess that has not changed). Sponsorship was something you could take or leave. I did get a sponsor at one point, but we did no nonsense like the steps. She was really just a friend to me. Her name was Dottie, and what I most remember about her was that she said "I didn't know you could move like that." (Referring to some goofy AA dance).
