Clara, but if the person had a bad experience what point does it serve to harass them and keep saying they are somehow wrong? We all got told we were wrong about just about everything while we were IN the damned program.

"If a reader believes that Patti, Massive and Kate has emotional issues and regret over spending time in the program then they are getting the correct message. That is what you get when you go to AA."
No, that's what they got.

I believe at least one of these posters was 13 stepped in AA.
Did you get 13 stepped becket, back before you left AA 22 years ago or whatever your story is? Or were you not worth the trouble? This would have been before you left AA meetings to become a dry drunk in deniual of course.
In addition, I believe that CLar was 13 stepped by her husband. In fact, CLar's husband has 13 stepped at least 4 women in AA if CLar story is to be considered true.
Yes, that's what women get in AA. Bill W, the self-admitted jesus reincarnate, needed a "watch committee" of Male AA members to keep his penis in his pants. : )
The Midtown Group practiced outright sexual predatory behaviors.
Is that what the newcomer wants?

My husband didn't 13 step anyone. He has had two wives from AA. While the first was just gaming it for clients for her massage therapy business after being madating, she still had been in the fellowship for 4 years before they married. I had 2 years when we started dating. His first wife was never involved in the fellowship.
Remember Christopher Stevens when you vote.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:16
Surely your husband would have known this woman was still drinking and using drugs if she was in AA for 4 years before he married her. And if he did, it's his own fault. I'm not buying it. Are you?

Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:51
It isn't his fault that she drank and used. She did that herself and hid it. Once they married and he lived in the same place, he figured it out. And, yes, I am buying it. I knew the woman. He didn't do things before like take out the trash and find bottles in it. She would toke in her car on the way home or in the garage when she threw in a load of sheets for her business.
I hope you aren't suggesting that a woman couldn't hide her usage from a spouse. We have a couple of examples on the board and they were functioning individuals. He didn't come home and find her passed out anywhere. But what did in the marriage was the affair. I know some seem to fault him for taking the routes he had to take in order to prove it, but in SC, you need to be able to prove your grounds.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 17:11
No you don't clara. SC has no-fault divorce. There's absolutely no reason to pursue any grounds unless you are trying to win a custody battle.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 17:17
Yes, SC has no fault divorce, which is fine for those with cooperative spouses. Remember, I said to prove his grounds. She wasn't cooperating so no-fault was not an option. Sorry. No "gotcha" here, Cause.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 17:19
Not to be ornery Clara, but a few days back you said that he didn't need grounds and could've gone no-fault. Something about how it would've saved face for him to have not made it messy, I was thinking. That he didn't have to. I don't much care either way, that's his business. But I could swear you said differently just a few days ago.
Just saw your response, apologies if I got that wrong, btw.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 18:22
Yes, he could have used her drunkeness and drug use as grounds, but he didn't want to bring more negative energy into it. They could have been divorced withint 30-90 days if he had taken that route. She was also demonstrably having an affair.
She didn't want to cooperate for a number of reasons. She takes over 1k of psychotropics drugs a month and she wanted to stay on his insurance because she otherwise had none. You have to be separated for a year in SC, so that was fine for a year. But then she objected to him having a new relationship despite hers breaking the relationship. She also didn't want to be made by court order to refi the house. She just wasn't going to make it happen.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:45
That's true. And I hope that anyone considering AA will use their instinct and judgment before going. They can evaluate the pov from different people of diff experiences.

You can't swallow what I write because there's too much shit in your throat waiting to be projected onto a few select others here.
Your graduating analogy is nonsensical and immaterial. I do not endorse AA as a 2012 whole here. I left decades ago. And even though your safety references to "we" and "us" will not comfort you when you're bleeding out somewhere or that little stone heart finally gives out. We come into this world alone and we leave it alone. Anything in between is illusion.
The disingenuous "sorry" at the end of your post made me laugh out loud.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 14:28
I comprehend what you write, & I've explained my comprehension, I do not think that you are impressing any one that may come to this forum, researching AA, I do not think any one is going to want what you have. I am not using the words we & us as safety references, safety from what? Bleeding out somewhere, from liver disease? You can think, feel, have your opinions of me personally, heart of stone giving out, wish death upon me, whatever you need to do, just do what you have to do. Actually a Mom is present when any one comes into the world & lots of lots of people do not die alone. I'm glad my sorry made you laugh, laughing is healthy.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 15:59
Becket, I think we all get what you're writing just fine. We're all also seeing what you're not seeing in your posts. Someone obsessive enough to keep pecking away at anonymous people on a web forum, someone who seems too bitter for words.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 10:42
What a fucking joke Marietta. You stated yesterday you were drink driving at age 11. Is that true?
You wouldn't know the truth if it came and bit you on the ass...lol
I stated no such thing.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 13:11
You spent 20 years driving drunk. You are 63 with 32 years of sobriety - work it out...lol. Marietta - you must stop the lying - you're simply not clever enough to keep it up...lol. Not the sharpest knife our Marietta...lol

Yes you did, you stated you spent 20 years driving drunk.

She evidently did not,
She evidently did not, however. I should also have gone to jail - every day I was behind the wheel, for 20 years - because I did not draw a sober breath in all that time. But I never got busted. I was criminal, with arrogant intent, but never got arrested.

Oh, the infamous "in the middle of the herd comment." Clara, that's for people who do not think critically, and I do.
My "emotionalism" has to do with the fact of HYPOCRISY. You well know that your job is to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers. It's not to "play around" on a forum doing nothing that furthers the goals of AA. Or are you just an AAer that stands on the sidelines, while not really carrying the "message?"
Wed, 05/16/2012 - 21:50
What the fuck do you care, Kate? Do you think Clara is an insurmountable obstacle in your mission to crush the 12 steps? Fuckin weak.
Wed, 05/16/2012 - 22:04
I care because I LOATHE hypocrisy. Put your money where your mouth is. Got a great program whose mission is to "help another alcoholic in need?" Go do it! Don't spend your time like a knat on a forum where people would just as soon forget all about your "effing program."
Wed, 05/16/2012 - 22:16
Smiles from me to you Kate.
edit: becket don't have no money cause he don't work. He's bipolar and living off us taxpayers.
Wed, 05/16/2012 - 22:26
Arghh! My spelling went to hell when I turned 40. And to think I used to win spelling bees. Oh well, that's not all that's failing. :)
Wed, 05/16/2012 - 22:39
I didn't notice the spelling - I really like becket the Gnat though. : )
It is quite disturbing after 40 what starts to go!
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 12:47
Knat? No, but I used to crochet. (Not crochety, live_free_or_die or dullson!)
How do you know I'm not helping other drunks? How the HELL would you know that? Do you have one of those Google cars circulating in my neighborhood, snapping pictures of me handing out miniatures to gutter dwellers? Do you follow me to work to see if I opportunistically speak to another alcoholic while you're watching?
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 15:26
How was work today No Balls becker? Did you work today becket?
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 19:52
You have stated that you do not tell other people what to do about their drinking, that you do not promote AA, that you do not evangelize & on & on, that your program worked for you & that is all you care about, on &on. You have stated you do not do anything pertaining to drinking except maintain your own sobriety. Not quoting you verbatim, you have stated that you pretty much mind your own business.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:00
You don't have any superior influence here on this site. This site is for all. So deal with your emotions like any other grown adult, here.
I am sick and tired of listening to this whining when you anti-AA'ers can't get your way. Many of you revert back to this infantile ranting, it is an extreme dramatic episode.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:03
Orange--please re-ban this troll. He/she/it is doing nothing but causing trouble in the most caustic ways. In case this posts in a weird spot, I'm referring to "Trisha K.".
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:14
And you will see that most of her post are jaded, abusive and very intolerant of other views expressed on this site. PIE, has made it her mission to constantly harass and abuse Clara and Becket. I am just exercising my right to defend my good friends and give her back the same shit she gives others she doesn't agree with.
PIE is a reject from Stinking Thinking where it was OK to abuse and harass the opposing people on the site.
PIE, sorry this abuse and harassment doesn't fly here. So stop it and we will also.
Trisha, you aren't even making sense at this point, just trying to get a rise out of me. Blah blah, I'm a reject from what where I abused and harassed who exactly? You don't even know what you're talking about.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:22
You seem very hung up about the Stinkin' Thinkin' site. What was your username there? I'm sure you won't mind telling us.
(Sits back, gets out the popcorn, and waits for the personal abuse . . .)

I don't want you to go back to your old ways of dragging prospects behind a car in the parking lot,but you really have to work on your presentation. Does your Sponsor and head doctor know you come here? You heading for another relapse and melt down again.......

Kate, you have been here for three days. Look at al of your frustration. Why don't you focus on what drives that? It can't be a woman you don't even know.
You have no idea what I do to carry the message, and I am not interested in feeding your anger.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 07:47
Clara, I don't know....Becket has a way of reminding people of every single bitter old caustic woman they've ever met. It doesn't take much when it comes to her. I myself have referred to her as a gnat many times....when I was being really kind.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 07:50
It just seems unusual for there to be so much emotionalism out of a so-called new poster.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 09:58
Clara come on, a new poster who wasted 35 years in AA & you can't understand, can't get Kate's emotionalism because she's a new poster!? Come on, any one would be emotional about any 35 year experience.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 10:29
No. She says that she has lurked on the OP for 4 years. That's fine and dandy to be upset with AA, but to toss it on the shoulders of someone because it worked for her is inappropriate. No one has done anything to her.
35 years? i am right back where I started. Why stay?
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 13:17
People stay in the program because other programees are manipulated into spending their lives breaking people down, making them needy of AA forever. The dutiful AA is convinced that unless they continually solicit and coerce people into staying that they will die themselves. It's called brainwashing.
"A.A. must continue to live or most of us will surely die"

PIE, I have read your flip floppy BS and pretty much have kept my mouth shut. Screw that you condescending snit. Why don't you worry about your own insecure self and deal with what is ailing you.
Becket has had your number since day one and you can't stand it, you are not witty enough to out fox her so you fall back on some ignorant ploy to engage Clara in conversation about Becket. What an adolescent play.....lmao.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:12
No Danny/Trisha, I can stand it just fine, it's just annoying. You, on the other hand, are harassing people outright. You have no business telling someone new to this forum to "fuck off", and you know very well that you have no business doing it. Blah blah blah is all I really see of you when it comes to you addressing me, because every word you type about me is utter bullshit, so I don't really care. But knock it the hell off when it comes to these attacks on the rest of the forum members, if you please. Oh, why the hell am I even being polite to your sorry ass? Knock it the hell off, period.
Thu, 05/17/2012 - 16:24
You are so full of yourself it is beyond funny. It is actually very sad and pathetic. You are a liar when it comes to Becket just as you were with Marietta. What you found was two women who had your number to a "T". Your insecurity and the way you deal with it here is silly. Grow up!!!
As far as me telling people where they can go, I will do and say what ever I feel. Just as you and all your friends do. There hasn't been a day that goes by that you or one of your buddies hasn't told an AA'er to leave this site.
PIE, don't like how I am dealing with you and others then stop with the harassment that your friends and yourself throw at us.
