In the news: A Giants fan was brutally beaten up at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and is now recovering in the hospital.

Some people commented, "I just can't understand it. It goes way beyond the traditional rivalry."

Well I can understand it. The thugs who did the beating are the same kind of thugs as the ones who joined Hitler's Brown-Shirts and went around beating up Jews in another decade. They were just getting their kicks by hurting somebody else.

We like to imagine that we are way above and beyond that kind of stuff now, but our "civilization" and "Christianity" is really just a very thin veneer covering some angry young apes. In fact, even our so-called "Fundamentalist Christianity" is just another example of such thuggism. It's just one gang of apes beating on another gang of apes.

On the bright side, it is encouraging that other people can be very, very good. It is amazing the range of possibilities that is available to humans. Some Medieval people believed that we had devils or angels inside of us. Sometimes, that doesn't seem to be too far off.

The perpetrators of this vicious attack have since been arrested, and charged with attempted murder, assault with a a deadly weapon, etc.

"They were just getting their kicks by hurting somebody else," observes the venerable Orange. This description could be applied to the remarks and behaviors of the majority of orange papers posters. Why is it that they can't offer a rejoinder to a remark without throwing in a bunch of "fuck"s, "idiots", "zombies", "cunt"s, ad nauseum? If life without AA is wonderful, why isn't that reflected in their contributions to the forum? If an individual's life is that good, there is no need to insult others. Opinions can be expressed without slamming others, except in istj04's case. I guess he just has nothing else to draw from.

Calling people gnames is kind of fun and kind of Mmmmmmmm when the article is in need of refinement and using better descriptions etc...

It's even better when holier than thou's play the moral high ground card because some people use some words, thus making THEM good and the people they are slagging off, as bad.

So I guess one is a cunt, when one plays with and preys upon the person they are counter attacking, with their feigned sense of "talk down-ism" in the truly simple minded unethical way.

I get that all the time... like calling some company / wanker on the phone - and I say, "You know this is the 5th time this has fucked up in the last 2 months".

And they retort - "Oh don't you swear AT me".

So I counter their bullshit with. "Oh Darls, I did not call you a stupid cunt or a dumb fuck, I just said the part was not working - so what's your problem?"

Yes I fail miserably as a social worker for fuck wits......
