Apologies for not setting up the Daily Bitch yesterday. I see Marietta took over took over the job. Thanks for that M. Shame about the topic though. Doesn't seem to have been that popular. Never mind - better luck next time.

Also I feel I should apologise personally to Marietta. I am neither dead nor writhing on my floor in agony. I simply went to a friend's 50th birthday party and had a really great time. We had lunch in a fantastic pub that I hadn't been to since 1976.

That roast beef looks very similar to what I was eating yesterday afternoon. Spring has come with a vengence here. We sat in the pub garden all afternoon and I even got a bit sunburnt. In the evening we went to an Irish pub with traditional music and had a whale of a time laughing, singing, dancing. Much more fun than sitting in meetings listening to Billshit.

Another glorious day today so I'm off out into the garden. The plan is to get the strawberry beds sorted today. If this weather keeps up they'll be in fruit in 10-12 weeks. Nothing like fresh strawberries from your own garden. Loads of manual work this time of year though. Not the greatest of fun but it's got to be done if you want the good stuff in the end.

I'm off down the pub again tonight. A friend of mine is playing in a local band - should be a good night. 2 pubs yesterday, another one today? Better watch out!!!! "If you go into the barber shop often enough you bound to get a haircut sometime" - what a load of bullshit. Nothing like a bit of on-going fear inducement. If I want to drink, I will drink. Either I will go to a pub and order it or go to a supermarket and buy it. I will then drink it. It will be completely my decision, not some crazy mental black spot or whatever Mad Bill says.

Maybe that could be a good topic for the day. What crazy sayings do AA come out with that reinforce the fear factor that AA relies on.

I think some of those things are meant for newcomers that insist they can go on about life as usual without modification. I couldn't have done it, but I find now that I can be anywhere and it doesn't bother me. I also never gave up delicious gourmet food, although a girl in the fellowship did give up her chef job because tasting all the sauces with wine whetted her to wine at home.

Strawberries sound wonderful, even the roast beef. If there is one thing I miss about the Brits I dated, it is the yorkshire pudding I learned to make...

Glad you had a great time, Ben. It comes to no surprise to me that many steppers wish people would get drunk or suffer horrible dry drunks when they are opposing the will of the 12 step religion. And we all know Marietta gets infuriated with anyone who has a life besides trolling all day. Jealousy is a bitter pill.
Is it just me or does Billy Butt sound more irritated and miserable the longer he is sober and in AA? Man, he was jumping all over the fact that you didn't participate in the Orange Forum for a single day. He sounds like he is making great progress in his "spiritual way of life".

Yesterday, we were near a couple of pubs with good names. One is called "The Nobody Inn" and the other, my favorite, is called "The Muscular Arms". That's in Dunchideock where the manor house has a treacle mine...lol Honest...lol.

Looking for something that isn't there. In the 30's, "gay" didn't have the meaning as it does today. Bill was on record as loving the whole thing about drinking - parties, people, the liveliness of the establishments... conviviality. I am sure that every one of you went into a bar so that you just could sit there and drink and rebuff any attempts of others to talk to you. That sure wasn't me. I was there for it all - fun, laughter, talk, jokes, dancing. And it was that way for a long time.

When was this, 1939? You do realize that 72 years have elapsed since that remark was made, right? Maybe some people do carry their ESH to jails or institutions, but I am taking a wild guess that most in AA do not have the time for such a mission today. In either case, how does anyone else's activities with regard to AA and sobriety affect you? If it doesn't affect you, there's no need to draw attention to it. If it does affect you, professional help might be in order.

In fact AA already has quite a few hookers as members. There was also a domoninatrix at flood street as well as two transsexuals On the game who had a fight during a meeting in Kensington. I'm sure properly organized,they would be quite successful as there are a lot of rather odd single men who are rather immature in the rooms. They have also had lots of practice of getting on their knees.

I remember once talking to a female stepper who was waxing lyrical about AA meetings and the fact that she even got to meet some prostitutes in them! What a delightful novelty this was to her, to be slumming it in such a way, and evidence of her true newly-found humility, tolerance and egalitarianism!

When I asked her whether she thought the prostitutes in question were as enamoured with mixing with the likes of her, however, she got quite unserene with me.

Actually I end up having to read the crap you and Clara write, because in the comment section it does not tell you who wrote it. I am really tired of all the trolling and people instigating trolling for the sake of google.

I dont like to hear about what Danny did to a poor girl over and over. I have stated my dislike for the trolling, and troll baiting. But I am just one person. This site is not about Danny or Clara, but it seems like the site has become all about them. I really dont care to hear Clara's life stories a thousand times a day. Why cant this site get high ranking without reducing it to this nonsense going back and forth with the likes of diabolical trolls?

Maybe it is like a car wreck, and people cant help but come on to see what mind games are being played by Clara and Danny. I could do without it.

I am interested in being proactive and getting the word out on choices in recovery. There are a lot of very smart people on the blog. Yet it gets drowned out by juvenile spats reduced to vulgarity by trolls and troll baiters.

As far as stats go, we can win the battle but lose the war. Let's get real genuine discussion going again and stop baiting the trolls.

Gosh this has been a very eye opening experience for me these last couple of weeks. I have learned more about members here and on others sites then one should know. It is no wonder nothing ever gets done that is productive. People like JR, Causy, Ben and Avo waste more time trying to fabricate garbage to rip apart pro aa’ers then they contribute positively to this site.
Guys leave Danny alone and stop calling me Danny. Then maybe all this goes away. But I am not going to tolerate ben, JR or causy humiliating me by calling me an abuser of young children. This is absolutely sick behavior.

What, three weeks now, Avo? I have know idea who Danny even is. I don't have to know the scoop and don't care to. But what I have seen from the rest of you is less than friendly behavior. When he isn't here, its' "Danny, Danny, Danny." Telling Danny jokes, wondering where he is or what he is doing. I really can't say what is more childish - behaving that way or screaming "trolls" just to get reactions. I don't see the other seasoned OP veterans behaving much better.

As for princibles, does Ben mean to suggest that he went to AA all of, what, 5 times, and couldn't figure out that the principles are the steps and traditions? Tell me what your sponsor said they were, Benster!

How did you guess that Clara? It is spot on. I went to AA EXACTLY 5 times longer than you have been there. You must have read that in an old post.

I've read the steps forwards, backwards, up and down, but I can't for the life of me find a SINGLE principle in them. Can you point one out Clara? Just one? A clue : there aren't any principles in the 12 steps. So what are the principles referred to in step 12? And please don't waste everyone's time babbling on about the traditions. They weren't in existence until nearlt 20 years after the steps were written.

No, Ben, I haven't read any of yoru old posts. I know about the traditions, my dear, but i was invited to personalize the traditions and to apply them to my life as well as the steps. You can read about princibles as early as in Bill's Story.

It is okay that any of the literature didn't speak to you as it did to me. The Torah doesn't say the same things to me as it does to my friend Sondi. It's all good!
