Are you sure some of you don't have internet paranoia? Many think some people here are really other people using a different name. Many people think some people have ulterior motives and are trying to tear apart the site. These are pretty typical reactions when people develop internet paranoia.

Maybe you should check out IPA ... Internet Paranoiacs Anonymous. They meet online 24/7.

Yes, I believe we do, but it's not unfounded. danny bennison has been here as 5 people so far. 3 have been banned, and Marietta vowed to haunt us til death. They both will.

He ought to ban them. They offer no debate and just derail the threads. They do show typical stepper self righteousness and ingnorence but everyone is bored by them. If they come back in future with different names just ignore them. They are sad people with little in their lives, but feel they are exerting some form of power by aggravating people here. They have no proper purpose in life which I'm afraid is true of many of he poor people in AA that fail to find employment or form normal relationships with anyone who is not in the programme.
I did tell AA face to face why I disagreed with them but I did not keep going back and ruining their meetings for them. This was partly out of courtesy and partly because I have better things to do and found hanging around with that lot to be pretty boring and pointless. It is very typical of steppers to attack anyone who has succeeded without the programme as it questions their ludicrous beliefs. I feel they should be spending more time reading their book, especially the acceptance bit, if they believe that the words of Wilson have something to offer. The reality is that they are probably loners in their own groups and are considered cranks by many of the more normal AA members. Nobody wants them to sponsor them and so they cannot control anything in their own environment. They are not following the traditions by their actions yet think everyone else should. Ironically they are another example of why AA does not work but that does not justify having them clutter up this forum with their rubbish.
I found the orange papers and other sites a great source of strength when I was deciding what was right for me a few years ago and I'm sure many others will in the future. I realise that some AA members will not agree and will find it controversial but there are plenty of places for them to go to share their beliefs . People have the right to look at both sides to make an informed decision about what is the best path for them to follow. People die when they have treatment or follow methods that don't work. I'm lucky, I found alternative help and with the aid of the Internet was able to read a whole range of material which helped me when I needed it. It would not have been helped by having to wade through a load of childish comments that are just posted to annoy. However this is sadly part of the way of the Internet and people that have failed to push people around in real life ,will often try to do it in the relative annonimity of an online forum.
Usually when a crank from AA tried to exert too much influence on a meeting the numbers of those attending dropped off and the meeting would die. The normal more balanced members would go elsewhere leaving only the extreme or the mad.That is something we should learn from AA.
