Anyone who comes on here has usually seen the light (Even Marietta - she's just in denial...lol). Once you've seen the truth, there is no going back. I don't think I could sit through another AA meeting without giving in to the desire to make farting noises regularly...lol. I give in so easily to the child within...lol.
What I'm proposing here is a list of questions that a true newcomer to AA could reasonably ask and, hopefully, get some replies. With the ever growing popularity of this site there is a good chance that a genuine person with an alcohol problem may come across it by chance. The OP is a mine of information but, to someone suffering and new to AA, it is probably too much to take in quickly. Remember the 90 in 90 - that's the kind of time frame AA have set themselves to brainwash newcomers - that's what has to be beaten.
It took me 3 months (90 days?...lol) or so to get through the Orange Papers, but I already knew that AA was wrong. What we need is a place for a newcomer to get a brief idea of what to expect from AA and a few questions to ask. A sort of Orange Papers Lite if you like...lol.
Just an idea for a couple of question. And remember, 50% of the battle is to get the newcomer to ask questions...lol
1 Why is it called the Big Book?
2. Why, in step 12 does it talk about principles when there aren't any principles?

sexual inventory
My sponsor, Looking back, really loved talking of sexual stuff..,
his confessions are so sick, it made it easier for me to confess.....
now I wonder if what he said was true,
I fucking hope not...
to sit there and be all " yea.. isnt it a cruel disease we have "
steppers are sick in many more - the more time goes on without them, the more sick I see how they were/are

My questions too!
I seem to recall launching a "forum topic" on "Questions to ask at 12-Step meetings". . . .It never got the attention it deserved. . .:(
So my question for "newcomers" would be: WHY are you here? To get a "proof of attendance card" signed?
To 13th Step? Because you think this is the only place that can stop alcoholics from drinking? JUSTIFY YOURSELF! ;)

NRL
It came into existence on December 7, 2005 8:21 am. It's a sort of tongue in cheek organisation invented by Orange to aid escapees from the cult. You can read about the start of it on page no 30 of the letters (about 3/4 of the way down the page). Fun idea though.

say it aint so joe
the above is a quote from a movie made about the "blacksox", the scandal of the players for the Chicago White Sox and their "fixing" of the 1919 the World Series. Yep, fraud for compensation.
AA is a fraud, it was the brainchild of Bill W. (Bill W. died a multi-millionaire) to make money (as of 12/31/10 AANY had in excess of $19,000,000 in liquid assets). AA is a hokey religion. Fraud for compensation.

Questions i asked
Things that i asked early on were:
How does AA get me sober?
How can God be a doorknob, and how does that help people stay sober?
If i have a disease, why do i need to do a moral inventory?
What is the miracle that i need to wait for?
How long do i need to come to meetings for?
Why do i need to do 90 meetings in 90 days?
If i have an AA friend to talk to, why do i need a sponsor?
Why is it that some people stay sober without the steps?
Why is that that som people stay sober without meetings?
If someone practices the steps, goes to meetings and has a sponsor, why do they still drink?
Why can\'t i stop going to meetings if i continue to practice the steps on my own?
Why can\'t i stop going to meetings if i live by my own spiritual principles?
What is spirituality?
Why do i need to be humble?
What makes old-timers so great, when many of them are grumpy a**holes anyway?
Why is \"time-up\" revered, if it\'s all \"a day at a time\" anyway?
Why can\'t i take other recrational drugs if they cause me no problems?
If alcohol, drug, sex, gambling, cluttering etc are all the same disease, aren\'t we just talking about addiction?
If i don\'t beleive in God or higher powers, how can i practice the AA program?
