The Program

Not posted for a while, maybe a break was what was needed to really realise the absolute nonsense of this 12 step thing. I know this thing kills and screws minds up, but this book, the BB, is total garbage. I dont understand now how I ever took this stepper garbage serious.

Big Book Meeting?

Reminds me a little of a Big Book Meeting, although Monty Python is amusing and some of it does make sense.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_guKhYVr5vA&feature=player_detailpage

Seriously although I too lost friends to this weird cult, it beggars belief that anyone can take this nonsense serious in this century, let alone it still dominates the 'so called' recovery industry of the Developed West?

God can be an apple tree or an hair dryer LOL

Step One

Step 1) We admitted that we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable

Fairly easy to convince somebody who has lost control or thinks they have lost control of their alcohol consumption, especially if everybody in the group agrees (when parroting at the meeting at least) with the assertion. Also if they have been subjected to a Judgemental God type religion they may be more susceptible to this idea of personal powerlessness.

Drinking Situations

I have practiced Total Abstinence with regard to Nicotine and illegal drugs including Cocaine. I have not considered Total Abstinence regarding Alcohol because I enjoy the atmosphere and camaraderie of drinking situations too much. No Higher Power is going to remove this desire no matter how many slogans the steppers can recite.

How do you stop that John Lennon song?

I come on here to counter stepper recruiters like Clara or whatever her/his name is, not to listen to the Beatles

Stepper Spiritual Growth

How do stepper truebelievers measure spiritual growth, is it purely how long you have been in a stepper cult? Or can you grow spiritually faster by attending three or four meetings a day? Can you overtake somebody who has been in AA a lot longer than you by going to every meeting you can and getting more spiritual growth? Can it be possible to overtake your sponsor in things pertaining to the spiritual and thereby become your sponsors sponsor and listen to his/her step 5 and then get your own back and tell everybody in the home group their darkest secrets?

Argument Number 2?

And once we have finished arguing about Step 1 and once again established that it is the first lying scaremongering doctrine of the lying scaremongering predator cult of Alcoholics Anonymous, lets move on to the first Chapter of 'More Revealed' the chapter entitled 'In the Beginning'

http://www.morerevealed.com/mr/brief-aa-history.html

To quote the relevant extract:-

Step 5

Is this really a life or death errand that will make us feel we are on the Broad Highway walking hand in hand with the Spirit of the Universe?( BB 4th Ed page 75)

The 12 and 12 states that “AA experience has taught us we cannot live alone with our pressing problems and the character defects which cause them.” Exactly whose AA experience has taught who this? Bill Wilsons? Doctor Bobs?

Top Documentary films

I'm sure there are documentaries on the Top Documentaries website that will interest anyone reading the Orange Papers. These two for starters

http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/question-of-miracles-faith-healing/

http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/cults-dangerous-devotion/

These documentaries may already be on this website somewhere but Ive provided the links anyway, the two above should stimulate some thought and debate

Step 7 Removal of Shortcomings

I hope it is safe to assume that these shortcomings are the famous 'character defects' so often referred to in stepper meetings?

The big question for me is 'does God remove these shortcomings if humbly asked?’ And if he does, then why is there a need to do Step 10. Why is there a need for continued personal inventory, if God has already removed our shortcomings in Step 7?

This raises a number of questions:-

1) Does step 7 actually work?

Can God miracle you to drink normally?

AA Big Book page 58 Fourth Edition

AA claim that Alcohol is cunning baffling and powerful and that without help it is too much for us.

AA then claim that God has ALL power. Then the 12 steps are suggested as a program of Recovery.

But there is not actually ANYTHING in the 12 steps about STOPPING drinking.

A question I have asked AA old timers before and have bought up on the OP letters page before, but nobody seems to be able to answer:-

Coronation Street

Just watching Coronation Street (The UK's top Soap). Carla asked Peter Barlow if they should take Simon (his son) to the pictures to forget about things, as his former girlfriend is trying to get custody of Simon. Peter replies that he can't he "has to go to a meeting." Carla mentions that he has already been to a meeting this week to which Peter Barlow answers "sometimes one meeting isn't enough."

Coordinated Anti AA march London - New York?

The 4th UK Recovery walk Brighton and Hove Saturday 29th September 2012

http://www.recoverywalk2012.org.uk/

Could a 1st UK Anti AA walk be organised, Buckingham Palace to Downing Street? Better still Aberdeen to Downing Street. Possibly coordinated with one in New York City?

That would get certainly get noticed. Could it be arranged? There must be enough interested people out their, both sides of the Atlantic
